What are the main support methods for grid structures
The support methods for grid structure can be divided into: nearby support grid, three side support grid, two side support grid, point support grid, and the combination of nearby support grid and point support grid.
Nearby support grid refers to all nodes near the boundary of the grid that are support nodes. The support nodes can be supported on the top of the column or on the connecting main beam. This method of transmission of force in the grid structure is immediate and the support is uniform, making it a widely used support method.
Trilateral support grid refers to a triangular support grid when the midpoint line of a rectangular frame building must be designed as an open entrance and safety passage due to production requirements, or when one side of the building is not suitable for layout of load-bearing prefabricated components due to functional requirements.
Two sided support grid refers to a quadrilateral grid that can only be designed as supports for the nodes on its opposite sides, while the other two sides are arbitrary edges. This type of grid support method is rarely used.
The setting standard for point supported grid structures is based on the reduction of positive bending distance and stiffness, so that the internal work of all grid structures tends to be uniform. For single spans with more supports, the cantilever length should be taken as 1/3 of the middle span. For multiple spans with more supports, the cantilever length should be taken as 1/4 of the middle span.
