How to remove high-strength bolts when they are broken?
1. Firstly, remove the sludge on the surface of the broken high-strength bolt head, use a center punch to block the center of the section, and then use an electric drill to install a drill bit with a diameter of 6-8 millimeters. Drill the hole at the center of the section, making sure the hole is drilled thoroughly. After drilling through the hole, remove the small drill bit and replace it with a drill bit with a diameter of 16 millimeters. Continue to expand and drill through the broken bolt hole.
2. Take a welding rod with a diameter of 3.2 millimeters or less, and use a small and medium current to weld the broken bolt hole from the inside out. Take half of the entire length of the broken bolt from the beginning of the welding process. When starting welding, the arc should not be too long to avoid burning through the outer wall of the broken bolt. After welding to the upper end face of the broken bolt, continue to weld a cylinder with a diameter of 14-16 millimeters and a height of 8-10 millimeters.
3. After welding, use a hammer to strike the end face of the broken bolt to cause vibration along its axis. Due to the heat generated by the previous arc and subsequent cooling, coupled with the vibration at this time, it can cause looseness between the broken bolt and the thread of the body.
4. Carefully observe the high-strength bolts, and when a small amount of rust is found to leak out from the fracture after striking, the M18 nut sleeve can be taken and welded together on the welded column head.
5. After welding, use a ring wrench to cover the nut while it is slightly cool and hot. Twist it back and forth on the nut, or use a small hammer to tap the end face of the nut while twisting back and forth. This will remove the broken bolt.
6. After removing the broken bolts, use a suitable hammer to process the threads inside the frame once to remove rust and other debris from the holes. Whether it's the tiny screws of electronic devices, the general screws of furniture and appliances, or even the large screws used in engineering, construction, bridges, transportation equipment, airplanes, trams, automobiles, etc., screws occupy a significant position in these fields.
