Size and type of sleeve
Size and type of sleeve
According to the torque and working environment of the bolt, the sleeve can be divided into three series: large, medium and small, which are distinguished by the width of the square Falcon of the supporting handle. There are 6.3 mm series, 10 mm series and 12.5 series. If inch is used, the corresponding series are 1.4 in, 3.8 in and 1.2 in.
In addition to the common standard sleeve, there are many special sleeves, such as grid sleeve, hexagonal long sleeve, hexagonal or dodecagonal flower sleeve, pneumatic sleeve, bit sleeve, etc. If the head is made into special shaped bolts and nuts, special sleeves must be used for disassembly.
(1) Hexagon long sleeve
The depth of hexagonal long sleeve is three times deeper than the standard sleeve, which is one of the most commonly used modified sleeves in automobile maintenance work.
(2) Pneumatic sleeve
The pneumatic sleeve is specially used with pneumatic impact wrench. If the ordinary sleeve is used, when the impact wrench is started, it will produce instant strong impact, which may damage the sleeve.
The special pneumatic sleeve is made of special chromium steel alloy, and the wall thickness is increased, the strength is reduced, and the toughness is enhanced, so that it can adapt to the harsh working environment.

(3) Dodecagonal sleeve
There are two types of the inner diameter of the dodecagonal sleeve: Hexagon and dodecagonal (double hexagon). The contact area between the inner hexagonal sleeve and the bolt and nut is large, so it is not easy to damage the bolt and the mother surface; the distance between the angles of the dodecagonal sleeve is only 30 degrees, which can easily cover the bolt and is suitable for removing the bolt in the narrow space.
(4) Hexagonal flower sleeve
The flower sleeve is specially used to remove the flower bolt head bolt. During disassembly, the flower shaped sleeve can contact with the bolt head, and the curved surface structure can reduce the volume and increase the disassembly torque.
(5) Series bit sleeve
The screwdriver sleeve and the matching handle are combined to form a variety of screwdrivers or hexagonal spanners, which are used to remove bolts with special bolt heads or small screws with excessive torque.
