Specification of high strength bolt

High strength bolts commonly used in China are divided into ASTM and JIS. Generally, there are two types of ASTM high strength bolts, A325 and A490.

The main components of A325 bolt are type 1 and type 3. Type 1 is used for general construction. Hot dip galvanizing may be carried out if necessary. Weathering steel shall be used with type 3 bolts. When using type 3 bolts, it should be noted on the design drawing.

The material strength of A490 bolt is higher than that of A325 bolt, but A490 bolt cannot be hot-dip galvanized. A490 bolts are divided into three categories, which are used together with weathering steel. The standard diameters of A325 and A490 bolts are 1-1.5 feet in feet and 1 / 8-foot increments. About a foot in diameter is commonly used.
In some special cases, A490 bolt can be used when the required bolt diameter is greater than 1.5. The use of A490 bolt is shown in Table 1, and the material strength is shown in Table 2. The screw head and nut of ASTM high strength bolt are hexagon head, and the nut must be heavy hexagon nut.
